Monitoring groundwater dependent coastal heathland in the Bribie Island National Park, an internationally significant wetland habitat, has been ongoing biannually since 2016 as a component of Seqwater’s Banksia Beach Borefield compliance reporting under the Commonwealth EPBC Act.
The project applied floristic indices and remote sensing parameters to detect the impacts of groundwater drawdown on the heathland’s floristic composition, structure, and ecology.
