His expertise has been utilised across many sectors including mining, infrastructure, resource management and biodiversity conservation.
Get in touchDavid’s expertise is in landscape-scale ecology, particularly the relationship between vegetation geology, geomorphology, hydrology, and hydrogeology. His current professional focus is assessing and monitoring GDEs, merging his combined experience in floristic ecology, geology, geomorphology, and hydrology.
He has been published in peer-reviewed journals and has co-authored several technical papers on issues relating to the characterisation and assessment of GDEs, in addition to manuscripts dealing with broader landscape-scale ecological processes. David has published vegetation mapping of the Wet Tropics Bioregion and the Torres Strait Islands on behalf of the Australian Government and has worked extensively on managing landscape biodiversity in northern Australia.
Throughout his career, David has built rapport with local indigenous communities throughout northern Australia.
